Janis Parker

Janis (Jan) Wehring Parker, 74 of Aransas Pass, passed away on October 16, 2022.  Jan was born in Mcallen, TX, on May 31st 1948. She graduated from Aransas Pass High School in 1966 and she worked in banking for many years. She dated her one love from 1965 until marrying in January, of 1970.  Jan and Hank had 57 wonderful years together.  The one thing she enjoyed most of all was planning and putting together our annual Navy reunions.  She loved traveling to many states and visiting with our many shipmates. She was loved by all, to know her was to love her. Jan fought a long 30 year battle with multiple sclerosis and never complained but kept fighting till the end.  Jan is preceded in death by her mother and father, Kathryn and Wilson Wehring. She is survived by her loving husband, Hank Parker, daughter, Jana Richardson and her little ray of sunshine, her grandson, Jagger Mark Richardson. Special thanks goes to the staff, nurses and CNA's of Gulf Point Plaza in Rockport TX, for all their wonderful care over care over the past years. There will be visitation with family Thursday, October 20th, from 5 to 8 PM.  Services will be on Friday, October 21st at 2:00 p.m. and burial will be at the Coastal Bend State Veterans Cemetery, in Corpus Christi, on October 27th at 2:00 p.m.
