Janis was also cherished by numerous cousins, extended family, and friends too numerous to count, all of whom loved her dearly. She leaves behind a legacy of kindness, generosity, and deep love for her family and friends. A gentle soul, Janis had a warmth that touched everyone she met. Her greatest joy in life was caring for her family and those she loved.

Janis spent many years working at Burnet Middle School in Austin, where she was a valued member of the school community and formed lasting friendships. After retiring, she and Dorian moved to Rockport, where she quickly became a beloved part of the Lamar community. She made lasting friendships with her neighbors and embraced the warmth and kindness of the area, always ready to lend a helping hand and share her joyful spirit.

Janis loved spending time in the kitchen, where she shared her famous chocolate peanut butter balls, beloved banana bread and pumpkin bread, and her signature chocolate cake with anyone who needed a little extra comfort. Her home was always a welcoming place, filled with love, laughter, and sweet treats—especially jelly beans. She cherished the times spent with family and friends, creating memories on trips to Port Aransas, enjoying the sun and the sea, and lively evenings with the bunco girls that were always filled with laughter and fun. Another of her joys was tending to her plants, nurturing them with the same love she gave to the people in her life.

A member of First Baptist Church in Rockport, Janis loved her church family. Countless memories were made around her table, and her love will live on in the lives of her family and the traditions she created.

Janis was preceded in death by her parents, Raymond and Doris Kasper, and her grandparents, Carl Weber Sr. and his wife, Lillian, and Julius and Ida Kasper.
