James Hernandez (Babe), passed away on July 3, 2026. He was 62 years old. He was born on November 23, 1963 in Aransas Pass, Texas. His parents are George Kanard and Rosa Hernandez. 

He was born and raised in Aransas Pass, Texas where he meet his loving wife of 39 years,  Maria Sanchez Hernandez. He worked for the City of Port Aransas, he was very hard working and was family oriented. He was a devoted Dallas Cowboy fan and he loved to BBQ for his friends and family. 

He is preceded in death by his dad, George Kanard; son, Noel Antonio Arzola; aunt, Beatrice Vaughn; and nephew, Ulysses Herrera. 

He is survived by his loving wife, Maria Hernandez; children, Joseph (Rebecca) Arzola, Toni Marie Arzola; mom, Rosa Moreno (Raul); siblings, Linda Hernandez, George Kinard, Gina Kinard, Maria (Mark) Delgadio, Raul Moreno, Lee (Mary) Moreno, Sylvia Moreno, Luza (Arnold) Gullen, Tracy Kinard,  and Jackie Moreno; 10 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, July 11, 2026 at 3:00 pm at Charlie Marshall Funeral Home in Aransas Pass, Texas.
