James Arlo Guthrie, 51, of Rockport , Texas, passed away on May 23, 2025, Born on February 20, 1974, in Andrews, Texas.
James was a true Texan through and through. He lived life on his own terms and valued his independence, his routines, and the comfort of familiar surroundings. He especially enjoyed quiet days outdoors, fishing or simply relaxing with his loyal dog, Sharkbait. James was a man of strong opinions and a sharp wit. He had a unique perspective on life and was never one to follow the crowd. He appreciated the simple things and kept his circle close, cherishing select moments with those he held dear.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents George and Patsy Miller, his mother Judy Lambert Franklin, his father Curt W. Guthrie, his grandson Vincent Hill, and his great-nephew Jackson Book.
James is survived by his sister, Laura Brumfield of Andrews, TX; his three daughters, Cori Hill of Andrews, TX, Tori Wright of Andrews, TX, and Madison Banda of Lubbock, TX; his grandchildren, Violet Hill and Theodore James Wright; nephews David Guthrie of Andrews, TX, and Brian Brumfield of Andrews, TX; nieces Meagan Book of Midland, TX, and Halie Schreiber of Ogden, Utah. He is also remembered by his aunt Janella Ivy of Andrews, TX; cousin Tina Walls of Andrews, TX; and his great-nieces and nephews: Nevaeh, Austin, Ruby, Lexi, and Marilynn.
Though James’s path through life was distinctly his own, he will be remembered by those who knew him for the moment that brought laughter, reflection and companionship.
