Howard Clifton Loveless, entered into the presence of his Lord and Savior on March 23, 2026 at 87 years old. He was born February 17, 1939, to Clifton C Loveless I and Mary R (Leonard) Loveless in Weymouth, Massachusetts. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather & friend.
Howard lived a life marked by hard work, creativity, compassion, faith and above all else service to others. He was a Sign Maker, Entrepreneur, Ordained Minister specializing in addiction recovery and jail/prison ministry. He served in the United States Marine Corps and in his later years served as a Chaplain in the Marine Corps League - Tennessee. He had a special passion for jail/prison ministry, counseling, and sharing the hope of Jesus Christ with those who felt forgotten. He believed deeply in redemption, restoration, and the transforming power of God’s love.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Clifton Conrad Loveless I and Mary R (Leonard) Loveless and his beloved wife Geraldine (Adkins) Loveless after 61 years of marriage, Daughter: Teresa Ann Loveless, Brother: Mike Loveless, Sister: Linda (Loveless) Edwards. Survived by his brothers: Peter Loveless (Kathy) and John Loveless (Sue). Children: Debra Booth (Paul), Clifton Loveless, Denise Watson (David), Matthew Loveless (Stephanie), and Dawn Loveless. Grandchildren: Jacob Kirkland (Angela), Nathaniel Kirkland (Heather), Clifton Conrad Loveless II, Brittany Schupp (Christoph), Amy Watson, Amber Watson, Yvette Rogers (Jonathan), Toby Loveless (Madalynn), Rebekah Loveless, Miranda Judd, Caleb Judd. Great-Grandchildren: Elisabeth Kirkland, Jeremy Kirkland, Cathryn Kirkland, Angela Kirkland, Hadley Kirkland, Severin Schupp, Marlee Davidson, Reese Rogers, J. Cooper Rogers, Maverick Loveless, Olivet Loveless and Everlee Loveless.
Though he will be deeply missed, his family rejoices in the promise that this is not goodbye, but only “until we meet again.” His race is finished, his work is done, and he is now at peace in the arms of Jesus.
The family would like to thank the amazing staff at the Harbor Hospice In-Patient Facility in Portland, TX for exceptional compassion and care. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to your local Hospice Center and or a Food Bank in his honor.
