Herbert Charles Jahn

Herb Jahn, loving husband of Patti Jahn and father to Trotter and Carson Jahn, left us to join our Glorious Lord and Savior on June 5, 2023. His humor, generosity, wisdom and love will be greatly missed. To all who knew him, enjoy the poem below written specially for him by his sister 20 years ago, which so perfectly describes the Herb we knew and loved.

More is Better

We need a special work to send, The angels said that day, Someone strong and smart and male, To help his parents along their way.

The Lord said, ‘If a little is good, More is better’, so he sent another son. ‘Give him an extra sense of humor, To help make sorrowful days fun.’

This one needs to be a leader, They knew right from the start, Someone brave, courageous and bold, But who will listen to his heart.

The Lord said, ‘If a little is good, More is better, make him an Eagle Scout, Give him extra perseverance, For when his young life brings doubt.

He will need to be a good provider, Even in the early years, Someone diligent and hardworking, To help ease financial fears.’ The Lord said,

‘If a little is good, More is better; make him a successful one, Give him a great business mind, They will need this in that son.’ So on

that day in September of 1953, Their work became complete. Someone strong and brave and diligent, Came to earth - his parents to meet.

And the Lord said, ‘If a little is good, More is better, make him named Herb Jahn, And through him, all the people in his life

Will share in more blessings, still to be drawn.’

Patti and the boys would like to thank everyone for their love and prayers both during Herb’s life and after his passing. God’s goodness and mercy followed him in the land of the living, and we rejoice in knowing he is now dwelling in the house of the Lord for eternity.

A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held as follows:
