Gloria Anderson

Gloria Jean Anderson passed away peacefully on December 31, 2025 in Portland, Texas,with Marcia and Joe Repasky by her side. She had moved to Rockport, Texas in the summer of2023.

Gloria had a deep seated love for her family and was always willing to lend a hand to those in need. Family was at the core of her being and she will be greatly missed by all who knewher. Her laughter was infectious, her humor and generosity touched the lives of many.

Born Gloria Jean Thronson on November 1, 1940, in Edgerton Wisconsin. She married the love of her life, Sidney Anderson in 1959. In 1971 they moved to the family farm in Cooksville, Wisconsin. Gloria and Sid were devoted members of the Evansville Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses.

Together they raised five children: Duane (Debbie); Marcia (Joe) Repasky; Gary (Tracy); Trina(Mark) Helgestad; and Sydney (Amy). Gloria also shared very close relationships with her nieces Stacy (Tim) Hilgenberg; Stephanie Larson; and Kathy (Aric) Aegerter. She is also survived by her brother, RonThronson; sister, LuAnne (David) Dooman; son-in-law, MarkHelgestad; nieces, Trudy (Tom) Spike; Marilyn Anderson; and Wendy Deems; and nephews Scott (Penny) Dooman; Mark (Renee) Dooman; Steve Anderson; David Anderson; and Tim (Mary) Thronson. Gloria was a proud grandmother to 10 grandchildren: Casey Anderson; Philip (Audra)Anderson; Stephanie (Chris) Herron; Jamie Repasky; Kaitlin Anderson; Colton Anderson; Avery Sweeney; Joey Mullen; Hazel Helgestad; and Hudson Helgestad. She was also blessed with six great grandchildren: Jasmine Herron; Zoey DeVoe; Brayden Herron; Teddy Anderson-Gates; Oliver Repasky; and Sylvia Repasky.

Gloria was preceded in death by her husband, Sidney Anderson Jr.; parents, Lloyd and Vivian Thronson; grandparents, Alfred and Selma Thronson who assisted in raising her and her siblings; daughter, Trina Helgestad; sister, Cheryl Stadler; niece, Kari McCarthy; her in-lawsSidney and Adria Anderson; Philip Anderson; Linda Anderson; Bob and Darlene Anderson; and Kenlyn Thronson.

A Celebration of Life picnic will be held next summer at the Cooksville Community Center, with details to be announced at a later date.
