In Loving Memory of Ginette Anaise Fouassier Huerta
December 31, 1925 – April 22, 2025
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Ginette Anaise Fouassier Huerta, beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, who departed this world at the age of 99. Ginette was born on December 31, 1925, in Paris, France, to Georgette David and Cyprien Fouassier. She grew up in Le Mans, France, during a time that shaped both her strength and resilience—the German occupation of World War II.
Amid the turmoil of war, Ginette met the love of her life, Juan Huerta, an American serviceman in the U.S. Army, at a USO dance. Though they spoke different languages, their connection transcended words, and they married on November 3, 1945. After the war, Ginette set sail on the Vulcania ship as a war bride, landing at Ellis Island before making her way to Encino, Texas. There, she adjusted to life in a small ranching town, raising a family with love and dedication. Ginette and Juan celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in 1995 before Juan's passing—a testament to their enduring love and devotion.
Ginette was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her siblings Mireille Kelly and Raymond Fouassier, her son Jack Huerta, and grandson Sean Huerta. She is survived by her sons, John Huerta of Encino and Pete (Teresa) Huerta of Ingleside, her daughter Linda (Mike) Rubalcaba of Ingleside, her daughter-in-law Gayla Huerta of Edinburg, her 12 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, 8 great-great-grandchildren, and countless friends who cherished her warmth and kindness.
A devoted and hardworking woman, Ginette built a successful career in banking, rising to the position of Assistant Vice President at International Bank in Aransas Pass. Upon her retirement, she devoted time to volunteering with the Ladies Auxiliary and exploring her passion for travel. Ginette’s yearning spirit to her homeland took her back to France on several occasions, as well as on memorable cruises—including her 99th birthday celebration with family and friends.
Ginette was an active and faithful parishioner of Our Lady of Assumption Catholic Church, finding solace and community in her faith. Her legacy is one of love, resilience, and an unwavering sense of family.
