George Wallace Brister III

George Wallace Brister III passed away June 10, 2023. He was 75 years old. He was born July 22, 1947, in Kingsville, Texas to George Wallace Brister Jr., and Fannie May Bargsley.

George was a heavy equipment operator for many years and a former roughneck in the oilfield industry. He was an avid gun and knife collector, and he enjoyed fishing, spending quality time with his family, especially spoiling his grandchildren, and he loved his dogs.

He is preceded in death by his mother; Fannie May Bargsley; father, George W. Brister, Jr.; stepfather, William Harold (Smitty) Smith; brother, Harold Smith; son, Mark Brister.

He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years Marlene Sue Brister of Rockport, Texas; son, George Brister (Christine) of Rockport, Texas; brother, Alvin Joe Smith of Diboll, Texas; grandchildren, Heather Brister, and Heidi Nguyen; great-grandchildren, Skylar Brister, Serenity McNatt, Drake Guzman, Maddox Guzman, Kai Nguyen, Braylee Nguyen all of Rockport, Texas.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
