Gayle Houser Goble, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, friend, and the heart of her family, peacefully entered her eternal home on June 25, 2026, surrounded by the love of those who cherished her most.Gayle was born on July 28, 1943, in Seguin, Texas, to Thomas and Joyce Houser. Raised in a hardworking farming family, Gayle learned early the values of faith, perseverance, kindness, and the importance of family. She grew up in Sinton, Texas, graduating from Sinton High School in 1961 before attending Southwest Texas State University.After college, Gayle returned to Sinton, where she married and became the proud mother of three boys, Todd, Layne, and Kyle. She often joked about the days when all three were in diapers at the same time. As a young single mother, she worked tirelessly to provide for her children, demonstrating a strength, determination, and resilience that would become hallmarks of her life.Later, Gayle met the love of her life and best friend, Jerry Goble. Together they built a beautiful life in Ingleside, Texas, filled with love, laughter, faith, family, and countless adventures. Whether they were gardening, working cattle, fishing, hunting, riding horses, or simply enjoying time together, Gayle and Jerry were true partners in every sense of the word.For more than twenty years, Gayle served her community through municipal government work in Ingleside, Portland, and Rockport. Upon retirement, she embraced life’s simple joys with enthusiasm. She loved gathering with friends for Bunco nights, train games, lunches, and laughter-filled evenings. Her friendships were treasured, and she had a remarkable gift for making everyone feel welcome and loved.Gayle was the matriarch of her family. She had a unique ability to bring people together, offering wisdom, encouragement, and unconditional love through both joyful celebrations and difficult seasons. She was the steady presence that kept her family connected, the one everyone could turn to for guidance, comfort, and support. Family was always her greatest priority. She delighted in hearing about the accomplishments of her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren and never missed an opportunity to brag about them.She was an active member of Ingleside United Methodist Church for more than forty years. Her faith guided every aspect of her life, and she faithfully served her church in numerous leadership and ministry roles, including as a Communion Leader, Benevolence Coordinator, and Finance Secretary. Gayle was also the founder of the church’s Teddy Bear Ministry, a heartfelt outreach that touched countless lives through acts of kindness, prayer, comfort, and compassion. Her servant’s heart and unwavering dedication to helping others left a lasting impact on her church family and community.Gayle also had a passion for photography and spent many years capturing memories of family gatherings, nature, and the people she loved.One of Gayle’s greatest joys was attending the annual Goble and Houser Family Reunions, where she cherished reconnecting with family from across the country. She never met a stranger and had a way of making everyone feel like family.Gayle was preceded in death by her loving husband, Jerry Goble; her sister, Candace Cormier; her son, Todd Lueckemeyer; and her bonus daughter, Dawn Spiegelhoff.She is survived by her sons, Layne Lueckemeyer and wife Angie of Orange Beach, Alabama, and Kyle Lueckemeyer of Ingleside, Texas; her brothers, Donald Houser and wife Maxie, and Ronald Houser and wife Lynn; her grandchildren, Brittany, Dustin, Austin, Payton, Chance and Tiffany; and six cherished great-grandchildren. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends whose lives were enriched by her love.To know Gayle was to be loved by her. Her warmth, generosity, humor, faith, and unwavering devotion to family created a legacy that will continue for generations. She was the glue that held her family together, offering strength during difficult times and celebrating life’s happiest moments with equal enthusiasm. While her family will miss her deeply, they find comfort in knowing she is reunited with Jerry, the love of her life, and resting peacefully in the presence of her Savior.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 2 pm on Tuesday, June 30, 2026, at Charlie Marshall Funeral Home in Aransas Pass, Texas. Interment will follow at Prairie View Cemetery. Following the graveside service, family and friends are invited to gather for a meal and fellowship at Ingleside Methodist Church.
