Gale Abernathy

Gale Abernathy (Abby), 66 of Bardolph, Illinois, passed away on July 21, at his home in Texas. He was preceded in death by his father, Gale; his brother, Carl Ray; and sister, Diana Lemley. He is survived by the love of his life, his wife of 30 years, Brenda Krull. Together they raised three kids - Jennifer, Steven and Christopher. Also surviving are his mother, Dorothy Abernathy of Aransas Pass, Texas; son, Gale (Patti) Abernathy of Pekin, Illinois; and five grandchildren - Faith, Hannah, Ashlynn, Kayden and Jada.

Abby's friends enjoyed his sense of humor and crazy stories.

He was a volunteer with girls' softball for 15 years as Board member, Coach and Keeper of the Fields.

His life began to slip away and depression had overcome him. At 3:00pm on a Tuesday, he fell to the floor and took his last breath in the arms of his wife, Brenda. He will be missed by many.
