Evelyn Stutzman Bird passed away March 23, 2017, she was 84 years old. She was born September 5, 1932, to Enos and Sylvia Stutzman, in Homes County, Ohio. She graduated from Lakewood High in Lakewood, Colorado and attended Goshen College in Indiana. She later finished her education at Douglas College of Rutgers University, majoring in Childhood Development. She was a co-founder of a pre-school in Cairo, Egypt in 1964, which is still in existence, and later became teacher/director of the Pinegrove Nursery School in New Jersey. Evie was also a First Day teacher for many years in the New Brunswick Friends Meeting. She was a strong advocate for social causes, a talented artist, a remarkable cook, and a loving person. She made a lasting impact on many peoples lives.
Evie and surviving husband, John were married 64 years ago. She leaves behind her son, John Wallace; daughter-in-law, Michelle, and grandson, Jason Allen of Corpus Christi, Texas; sisters, Dorothy, and Polly of Goshen, Indiana; and numerous other family members.
