We Celebrate the life of Etelvina Estrella Huerta, affectionately known as Tina Huerta, who passed away on May 4th, 2023. She was born on March 28th, 1942 in Mexico. She lived most of her life in Rockport, TX. and retired from ACISD. Tina was 81 years old when she passed away.
Tina had a passion for gardening and flowers. She loved nothing more than spending time tending to her beautiful garden, which was a true testament to her green thumb. Her love for nature was evident in every aspect of her life and she inspired many with her dedication and care for the world around her.
However, Tina's greatest love was her faith. She was a devout Christian and found comfort and solace in her religion throughout her life. Her unwavering devotion to God was an inspiration to those who knew her and her faith was a cornerstone of her identity.
Tina was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 20 years, Louis Manuel Solis Sr. She is survived by her two sons, Louis Manuel Solis Jr. (Johnnie) of Rockport, and Joe Anthony Solis of Portland, as well as her three daughters Brenda Morris (Mike) of Rockport, Sandra Benavides (Homer) of Arkansas and Julie Young (Chuck) of Aransas Pass. She is also survived by her brothers Daniel Gonzalez (Maggie) of Edinburg, Joe Gonzalez (Rosario) of Edinburg, Luis Gonzalez of Edinburg, and Juan Gonzalez (Sylvia) of Edinburg. Tina leaves behind thirteen grandchildren, Daniel Garcia of Rockport, David Hummel of Aransas Pass, Matthew Benavides of Arkansas, Lucas Benavides of Austin, Jacob Benavides of California, Aaron Solis of Rockport, Stephen Solis of San Antonio, Zachary Solis of San Antonio, Cailey Solis of Houston, Michael Galindo of Alaska, Joe Anthony Solis Jr. of Portland, Isabella Solis of Portland and Amanda Grunberger of Rockport, Tx. She also leaves behind fourteen great-grandchildren.
Tina was a kind, loving and generous person who touched the hearts of all who knew her. Her legacy of faith, love and devotion to family and friends will live on in the hearts of those she touched. May she rest in peace.
Visitation will be held on Monday, May 8th from 2pm to 8pm at Charlie Marshall Funeral Home in Rockport, Texas. The funeral service will take place on Tuesday, May 9th at 10am at the same location with interment following at Rockport Cemetery.
