Ernesto Vela Sr.

Ernesto Vela Sr, 67 of Corpus Christi, Texas, passed away August 10, 2022.

He was born in Sebastian, Texas on September 22, 1954 to Ofelia Morales and Juan Perez Vela.

Ernesto worked at Kiewit cooperation as a structural fitter. He had a passion for fishing, joking around and going to the beach.

He was preceded in death by his mother Ofelia Morales, father; Juan Perez Vela, daughters; Lisa and Michelle Vela, son; Michael Vela.

He was survived by his sons; Ernesto Vela (Angela), Roy Vela, Oscar Vela, all from Rockport, Texas; daughters; Joanne Martinez (Benjamin), from Taft, Texas, Irmalinda Villarreal, from Corpus Christi, Texas; brothers; Ramiro Vela (Maria), Juan Vela Jr (Reyna), Feliberto Sanchez (Estella Fela); sisters; Irma Cruz (Billy), Rachael Vela; grandchildren; Roberto Mendez, Alexandra Benivamonde, Jesus Benivamonde, Norman Benivamonde; great-grandchildren; Aleinah, Marisah, Alyson, Alianna, Jeremiah and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral Arrangements will be held at 8:00am-12:00pm with a Service at 10:00am, August 20, 2022, at Charlie Marshall Funeral Home in Aransas Pass.
