Erlinda Guerrero Benavidez, lovingly known as "Mina" to her family, was born on June 10, 1932, and entered eternal rest on June 8, 2026, peacefully surrounded by the love of her family, just two days before her 94th birthday.

Mina lived a life defined by faith, resilience, hard work, and above all, an unwavering love for her family. Her home was a place of comfort and welcome, where a fresh pot of beans was never far away, laughter was plentiful, and everyone knew they were loved. She possessed a quiet strength that carried her through life's challenges and a generous heart that touched countless lives.

Family was the center of Mina's world. She found her greatest joy in caring for those she loved and took immense pride in watching her family grow through the generations. Her love was steady, unconditional, and enduring, creating a foundation that will continue to guide her family for years to comeAfter many years of dedicated service, Mina retired from ACISD in 1994. Retirement did not slow her down. She continued serving her community as a devoted volunteer at Castaways Thrift Shop for more than 30 years, forming lasting friendships and giving generously of her time. Her faith remained a constant source of strength throughout her life, and she was a faithful member of Sacred Heart Church, where she found comfort, purpose, and community.

She is survived by her children, Janie Zamudio, Ray Benavidez, Jr. (Sara Benavidez), and Lillie Garza. She also leaves behind 12 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, and 5 great-great-grandchildren, each of whom carries a piece of her love, wisdom, and spirit. She is also survived by her sisters, Elia Perez and Louise White, along with numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends who will forever cherish the memories they shared with her.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Jose and Paubla Guerrero; her beloved grandson, Daniel Ray Garza; her son-in-law, Daniel P. Garza; and numerous brothers and sisters who welcomed her home into eternal peace.

Those who knew Mina will remember her for her loving heart, her strong faith, her determination, and her deep devotion to family. She had a way of making people feel cared for, whether through a home-cooked meal, a warm conversation, a heartfelt prayer, or simply her presence. The lessons she taught, the traditions she passed down, and the love she shared will remain woven into the lives of those who were blessed to know her.

Though our hearts are heavy with sorrow, we find comfort in knowing that Mina's beautiful legacy lives on through the four generations of family she leaves behind. Her love will continue to be felt in family gatherings, shared recipes, cherished stories, and the countless memories that will be passed down for years to come.

She will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered, and forever held in our hearts.

Visitation will be from 4-8pm on Wednesday, June 10 at Charlie Marshall Funeral Home in Rockport, TX. The Rosary will be recited at 7pm. The Funeral Mass be at Sacred Heart Catholic Church on Thursday, June 11 at 10am. Graveside service will follow at Prairie View Cemetery in Aransas Pass.
