Elva Lucille (Draper) Bromley, age 97, of Aransas Pass, Texas, passed away peacefully on November 14, 2025. Born in Provo, Utah, on April 18, 1928, to Zira Poulsen Draper and Elsie Spendlove Draper, Elva lived a vibrant life filled with music, dance, and the beauty of the natural world. She loved to travel the western states.
A devoted homemaker, Elva also opened her heart and home to children through Anchor Bromley Daycare for many years. An avid rock hound, she collected treasures across the western states, each stone a memory of adventure. Her love of music and dancing always brought light to every room-she could twirl across a floor or hum a tune that lifted every spirit. She also loved to play the game of Skipbo with her family, creating many cherished memories.
Elva was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Capt. C. J. Bromley Jr.; her parents; daughters Carolyn Elsie Bromley and Saundra Lynn Bromley; grandson Charles Teal Jr.; and her dear 4 brothers and 4 sisters.
She is survived by her daughter, Jo Ann Marie Bromley; grandchildren Tanya Marie Lawrence, Bennie "Trey" Ray Kirk III, and Katherine Francis Maloney; seven great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren. She was especially grateful for the loving care provided by Connie Teal, who brought comfort and companionship to her final years.
Elva's legacy is one of love, laughter, and the simple joys that made life sparkle. She will be deeply missed and forever cherished.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Charlie Marshall Funeral Home in Aransas Pass, Texas, on Monday, December 8, 2025. 2:00 pm
