Elida R. Ramos

Elida Rodriguez Ramos passed away peacefully on May 29, 2026, surrounded by her loved ones. She was born on July 20, 1931, in Aransas Pass, Texas, to Benina and Juan Rodriguez, and remained a proud lifelong resident of her hometown.

Elida was truly one of a kind. She was strong, stubborn in the best way, and full of life. She carried a fire in her spirit that never faded. She could make you laugh, tell you exactly what she thought, and love you harder than anyone else all at the same time. Her family was her heart, and she loved them deeply.

She enjoyed shopping at Dillard’s, watching her cowboy western movies, and relaxing with a cold Coors Light on a Sunday afternoon. She prayed faithfully for everyone she loved. Elida worked for the Aransas Pass Independent School District for 30 years, where she formed many lifelong friendships.

She was a devoted sister, mother, wella, and friend who will be missed by all who knew her.

Elida is survived by her children:Paul Ramos of Fort Worth, Texas, Ralph Ramos Jr. of Fort Worth, Texas, Ramiro (Irma) Ramos of Houston, Texas, Thomas Ramos, Juan Ramos, Gilberto Ramos & Steven Ramos of Aransas Pass, Texas and her daughter, Marie Ramos of Aransas Pass, Texas.

Although she was blessed with nine children, she also helped raise her granddaughter Suzette (Johnny) Ramirez, with whom she shared a special and unbreakable bond. She held a unique love for her great‑grandsons Johnny Lee Ramirez Jr., Matthew Guajardo, and Vincent Benavides, and her great‑granddaughter Aizlynn Ramirez.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Rafael T. Ramos; her daughter Dianna (Jose) Moreno Sr.; daughter‑in‑law Ramona Ramos; sisters Antonia Longoria and Sobeida Delgado; half‑sister Minnie Cristian; and brothers Juanito Rodriguez and Jesus Rodriguez.

She is survived by her sister Hermida De La Garza, and half‑sisters Irene Rogers, Angie Rendon, and Femie Rodriguez.

Elida leaves behind numerous grandchildren, great‑grandchildren, and three great‑great‑grandchildren who will forever carry her memory in their hearts.

Pallbearers: Johnny Lee Ramirez Sr., Johnny Lee Ramirez Jr., Vincent Benavides, Ramiro Moreno, Jaime Moreno, and George Rodriguez.
