Douglas Paul Ames was born in Waterville, Maine on July 1, 1958, and passed away on July 12, 2025, in Ingleside, Tx. He is survived by his wife, Sidney Ames and his daughter Brandi Carreon. He is also survived by his mother, Martha Bisson, his brother Dennis Ames, his sister Roxanne Wilson, and granddaughter Trinity Carreon.
He is preceded in death by his father, Buddy Ames and stepfather Leon Bisson.
Fondly know as Doug, he was always happy and well liked. He began his career with Viking Erectors. He was a journeyman iron worker and a member of the Iron Workers Union 848 South Carolina.
Doug enjoyed fishing, hunting, hiking, running, and traveling the US. He visited 44 states. He was part of the 1983 Special Olympics and had the awesome honor to run with the torch.
Doug grew up spending summers on the grandparents' farm. He learned a strong work ethic on the farm with many chores to do daily. His favorite music was "The Golden Oldies" from the sixties.
Doug was A Christian and attended Central Baptist Church in Ingleside. Tx. Doug liked people and enjoyed helping people. He was a jokester and loved making people laugh. He will be greatly missed by his friends and family.
