Donald Gene Moody, Age 95, passed away August 16th, 2026 in Corpus Christi, Texas. Donn was born in East Chicago, Indiana on February 1st, 1931.

Much of Donn’s life was spent in the service of others. Donn was a veteran of the Korean conflict where he served in the US Marine Corp as a Tank sergeant. After his honorable discharge, Donn entered the Indiana State Police in 1955 at the advice of his older brother Edwin C. "Huck" Moody. Donn retired from the Indiana State Police in 1975.

After moving his family to Portland, Texas in 1977, Donn also served multiple terms as president of the local Lions Club.

Donn was extremely handy with tools and ran appliance businesses  in Indiana and Texas. He also loved repairing and restoring classic cars and spent many hours working on Ford Thunderbirds and Mustangs with his sons.

He is survived by his daughter Nancy (Willy) Toepfer of Portland, Tx. And sons Robert (Karen) Moody of Austin, Tx. And William (Shelley) Moody of Copperas Cove, Tx. Along with 6 granchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

 He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 61 years, Carolyn Marie (Yoder) Moody in 2017.

Funeral arrangements are made through Charlie Marshall Funeral Home, Aransas Pass, Texas. The family is planning a private memorial service at a later date.
