Rockport

It is with deep sadness and so much love that we mourn the passing of Desirae “Desi” Lynn Torres, of Rockport, Texas, on Monday, August 20th, 2025 at the age of 34 years.

A viewing at Charlie Marshall Funeral Home will begin at 3pm on Monday, August 25th, with a Rosary in her honor starting at 7pm. The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, August 26th at 10am, with the burial to follow at Rockport Cemetery.

Desi was born on May 18th, 1991 to Reyes and Teresa (Diaz) Torres. She was the fifth child of seven but was forever everyone’s baby. Born a miracle, every moment spent with her was a blessing from God. Desi was a shining light, the favorite sister, aunt, and niece of everyone. In 2017, she married her soulmate, her high school sweetheart, Angel Salazar, in a beautiful beach ceremony, where her father walked her down the aisle, Desirae was welcomed into the kingdom of heaven by her loving father, Reyes Torres, her paternal grandparents Pedro and Petra Torres, maternal grandparents, Silverio and Mary Diaz, uncles Pedro, Amado, Jesse Torres, and Joe Zambrano, aunt Janie Valdez and Jessica Diaz, cousins Melissa Lopez and Aaron Guererro.

She is survived by her mother, Teresa, her second mother, Aunt “Lala” Viola Rios, and her siblings: Reyes Torres, Jr.; Bullet Torres (Kelly); Rosemary Diaz (Homer); Tiffany Ricarte (Tod); Leanna Romero (Gilbert); and Deanna Torres (Joe).Desirae had a great love for her numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins, and enjoyed spending time with family and friends, listening to music and dancing. She loved her dog, Daisy, and spoiled her rotten. Desi was a jokester, and never forgot anyone’s birthday, writing them long birthday letters to commemorate their special day. She had a great appetite for life, food, and helping others, and could always be counted on to “make a plate” for anyone.Desirae’s light will forever guide our family during dark times. Her life leaves behind a legacy of love for family that will never be forgotten by those whose life she touched. Her laugh will echo on in our hearts and remind us that the pain passes, but the beauty remains

.“I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worth comparing with the glory that is to be revealed to us.” Romans 8:18
