Deryl Rowell

On Friday January 15th, 2021, Deryl Brown “DB” Rowell, loving husband and father passed away at the age of 87.

DB was born January 13th, 1934 in Electra TX. to William “WD” and Veda Rowell. He graduated from Holliday High School in Holliday, TX. where he resided. On August 22nd, 1953 he married his high school sweetheart Patsy Ruth Thomas. They raised two daughters Sherrel and Kelly Rowell.

DB worked the entirety of his career in the oilfield. After DB retired, him and Patsy moved to Ingleside, TX., in 2008. His hobbies included collecting guns, working outside in his toolshed, gardening, spending time with his family, and watching old westerns, especially his favorite John Wayne. He was known for his quick wit, his kind and compassionate spirit, and being an all-around good man.

DB was preceded in death by his father WD, his mother Veda, and his sister Elaine. He is survived by his wife Patsy, his two children Sherrel Stanford and Kelly Onley, his sister Jeanine Lewis and several grandchildren and great grandchildren including, Shelley Onley, Brad Stanford, Stacey Onley, Kacie Mahlmann, Jayme Espinoza, Quaid Welch, and Brooklynn Espinoza.

He will be cremated and a memorial service will be held at a later date.
