Delfino Flores

May 28, 1960 — October 22, 2025

Aransas Pass

Delfino Flores, known lovingly as Fino and to many as Big Fino, passed away peacefully on October 22, 2025, in Corpus Christi, Texas, surrounded by family who adored him. He was 65 years old and lived in Aransas Pass, Texas, where he was born and raised near the Gulf Coast he loved so much.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Ramon and Ermelinda Flores, his brothers Raymond and Ramiro Flores, and his beloved daughter Dominique Flores.

Fino was a devoted husband to Melinda Flores and the proud father of Ermelinda Alvarado (Rocky), Delfino Flores (Sophia), Dominique Flores, Erik Flores (Liza), and Marquis Flores. He was a cherished grandfather to Isaac Alvarado, Jacob Alvarado, Audrie Alvarado, Marissa Flores, Miranda Flores, McKayla Flores, and Natalee Arismendez Tirado (César). He is also survived by, brothers, Jose Flores and Danny Flores. Along with numerous nieces, nephews, and close friends.

Fino built a life defined by hard work, love, and a deep connection with his family and the friends who became like family. He graduated from Aransas Pass High School in 1979, where he began forming many of the lifelong friendships and memories that would shape the rest of his life. He worked as a crane operator for Turner Industries and, in his younger years, as a shrimper, following the water that always called to him. He proudly served his community as a School Board Trustee for the Aransas Pass Independent School District since June 2020.

When he wasn’t working, you could find him doing what he loved most—spending time with his grandchildren, fishing the best redfish spots, or (frustratingly) cheering for his favorite teams: the Dallas Cowboys, Texas Longhorns, Houston Astros, and San Antonio Spurs. He was a coach at heart, a mentor, an umpire for countless games, and a man who made everyone feel like part of his team.

He took immense pride in his yard, never letting anyone else touch it because no one could do it right but him. He loved cooking for his family—ham, German chocolate cake, barbecue, menudo, and lasagna were just a few of his specialties.

He was a good father, but an even better grandfather. Some of the family’s favorite memories are of celebrations and fishing trips—he never missed an event, always driving his boat and catching all the bait so everyone else could focus on casting a line. His final months were spent surrounded by his family, filled with stories, laughter, naps, and a closeness that reflected how much he meant to all of them.

Fino was a man of strength, loyalty, and deep devotion. He was a hardworking provider, a husband who always stood by his wife, a father you’d always catch in the stands, and a grandfather who poured his heart into every one of his grandkids. His strong (and always right) opinions, his playful trash-talking, his love, and the lessons he left behind will live on forever in the hearts of those who truly knew him.
