David Watson Wells Jr. of Rockport passed away with his family by his side on Saturday, October 22, 2022 at the age of 64.
He will be lovingly remembered by the mother of his children, Pamela Jordan, and their beautiful daughters Jordan (John) Garcia and Jessee (Jordan) Pilgrim; Grandsons, Jacob Garcia and Preston Pilgrim; Brother, Stewart Wells; Sister Sheryl (Kenneth) Matlock; as well as many relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his loving parents, David Sr. and Barbara Wells.
David was born December 27, 1957, in Houston, Texas. The Wells family moved to the Holiday Beach area of Rockport in 1970 when David was 13 years old. He developed a love and appreciation for cars at an early age, with his most prized car being a 1967 Firebird which he restored himself. His siblings recall him constantly working on his car so he could race for titles on the back roads every Saturday with his friends. Cars and racing became one of his lifelong passions along with starting multiple businesses throughout the years. From firework stands, shrimp houses and most recently, he founded Texas Gold Skiddos where he utilized his 40+ years of expertise and vast knowledge of septic setting, piling construction and liquid waste management to do a job many would not. Although David liked his cars and his work, nothing came close to the love and admiration he had for his daughters. They were the true highlight of his life.
Services are as follows, visitation Friday night October 28th from 5-7 pm at Charlie Marshall Funeral Home Rockport; Graveside Service Saturday, October 29th at 10 am at Rockport Cemetery; Reception following interment at Fulton Volunteer Fire Department. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Fulton Fire Department, an organization David felt strongly about.
