Obituary

Daniel Richard Gray of Ingleside, TX passed away on June 19,2026. He was born in Fort Collins, Colorado on February 14,1951 to James Sidney Gray and Edna Beauregard.

Daniel grew up in Johnstown, CO and lived mostly in Greeley, CO before retiring to Ingleside, TX. After Daniel graduated from Roosevelt High school in 1969, he served in the Air National Guard stationed at Fort Sheppard AFB, Wichita Falls, Tx from Sept. 1969 till he was honorably discharged in June of 1970. Daniel then returned to Greeley Weld, Co.

Daniel married Betty Lorene Gray July 6th,1974. Daniel liked to play practical jokes, he was very funny. He was known as a “jack of all Trades”, he could fix anything. Some of his hobbies included motorcycles, yard sculptures, working on classic cars, fishing, and playing board games with family & friends. Daniel was a Broncos Fan and he loved cats.

He was preceded in death by his wife Betty Gray, his parents James & Edna Gray, his in-laws Helen & Tom Chesnutt, and his brother William “Bill” Gray. He is survived by his children, Sid Gray (wife Carrie), Mara Harris (spouse Derek), his brother Joel Gray (wife Debra), and his significant other Beverly “Cookie” Matthews & many other family members.

The family wishes that memorial donations be made to: The Aransas County Wildlife Sanctuary in Austwell,Tx., ASPCA, The Cattery of Rockport, or The Wounded Warrior Project Foundation or any animal rescue organization of your choice.
