Daniel P. Garza Jr.

Daniel P. Garza Jr. “Kayo” 74, passed away surrounded by the love of his family on March 18th 2026. Born May 4, 1951, he shared a loving marriage with his wife, Lillie Ann Garza, whom he met in 1975. He is preceded in death by his son, Daniel Ray Garza; his parents, Macedonia Garza and Daniel (Ismael) Garza Sr.; and his brothers, Fred, Ruben, Arturo, and Sabas Garza. He is survived by his wife, Lillie Ann Garza; his daughter, Danella Connor (Steve Connor); daughter-in-law, Virginia Garza; grandchildren, Kaitlin MaRaye Garza (TJ Martinez), Brenden Landgraf (Emma Aguirre), Daniel Ray Garza II, Aubrey Connor, and Dawson Connor; brothers, Simon, Joe, and Ernest Garza; sisters, Guadalupe Garza and Rita Villarreal; and many nieces and nephews.

He cherished time with his great-grandchildren, Mia, RayAnn, and Thomas Kayo Martinez, especially their trips to the park, beach, Rosita’s, and Castaways. He loved birds, bandanas, and watching American Pickers, Pawn Stars, and Antiques Roadshow. A Willie Nelson fan, his favorite song was “Blue Eyes Crying in the Rain.” He will be remembered as a loving husband, father, and “Papo.”

Services: Visitation Monday, March 23, 3–7 PM at Charlie Marshall Funeral Home, Rockport, with rosary to follow. Funeral Tuesday, March 24, 2 PM at Sacred Heart Church. Burial at Prairie View Cemetery, Aransas Pass.
