On May 8th, 2024, Clemente Flores, better known as “Popo” peacefully went to his eternal kingdom at the age of 76. After 24 years of battling cancer, He passed away peacefully at home in the presence of his beloved family.
Clemente was born March 15th, 1948, to parents Antonio and Margarita Flores in Mathis, Texas. Clemente was one of 12 children. He had 4 brothers, Juan, Ballintino, Tony, and Frank. And 6 sisters, Anita, Terresita, Raquel, Rosa, Alicia, and Mary Lou. He was preceded in death by his mother Margarita, his father Antonio, and his brother Frank.
He graduated from Mathis Highschool in 1968. After graduation, he was drafted to the Vietnam war at the age 18. He was drafted overseas with his brothers Ballintino and Juan Flores. After two years, Clemente was honorably discharged in 1970 to come home where he was reunited and married to the love of his life, Olga Flores. They continued to be happily married for the rest of his life and celebrated 53 years of marriage.
Over the years, he welcomed his 3 beautiful children, Steve, Sandra, and Mark Flores. He was further blessed with 10 grandchildren Mindy, Brandon, Justin, Zachary, Gabriel, Jordan, Zoey, Jeremy, Mason, and Mateo, And 2 great grandchildren, Andrew, and Lainey.
Clemente’s strong will and perseverance allowed him to further his education. He pursued his education at Del Mar College where he obtained his Welding and Instrument Degree. He was hired at Dupont where he worked for many years and Oxy Chem where he worked for 30 years. He retired at the age of 55 and devoted the rest of his life to loving and supporting his family.
Clemente’s relationship and love for God and his family were the most important things in his life and his memory will live on forever.
