Cheryle Marie Stansberry (Moore) stepped into her Heavenly Home on February 13, 2026, at the age of 69, leaving behind a legacy of service, love, and growth in her beloved hometown of Aransas Pass.
Born to Johnny and Letha Moore on June 8, 1956, Cheryle was a fixture in the community from the start. On May 6, 1978, Cheryle married the love of her life, Terry Stansberry. Together, they built a life centered on family, raising three children, Kristy, John and Nikki.
Cheryle’s dedication to her community was unmatched. After earning her Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting from Texas A&M University–Corpus Christi, she spent 35 years serving the Aransas Pass ISD Business Office, including 26 years as the Senior Director of Business and Finance. Her commitment to education continued even into retirement, as she was recently sworn in as a Trustee for the APISD school board. Her servant heart extended to many organizations, including the Aransas Pass Little League, the Housing Authority, and the San Patricio Teacher’s Credit Union. She was also a devoted member and Treasurer of the Woman’s Club of Aransas Pass.
Beyond her professional accomplishments, Cheryle had a gifted creative side. Many will remember the amazing cakes she designed, from birthday cakes to wedding cakes, which were as beautiful as they were delicious. She found equal joy outdoors, pouring her passion into her yard and creating an inviting space where her green thumb and eye for detail were on full display.
Cheryle is preceded in death by her parents, Edward Terrell “Johnny” & Aletha Moore.
She is survived by her loving husband, Terry Stansberry; brother Terrell “Terry” Martin (Valencia) Moore Sr.; daughter, Kristy Stansberry, son John (Stephanie) Stansberry, daughter Nikki (Dustin) Mercado; and 11 grandchildren – Christian, PJ, Dylan, Aiden, Austin, Kameryn, Maegan, Scarlet, Cooper, Nolan, Jameson.
Family visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 18, 2026, from 10:00-11:00am and public visitation from 11:00-1:00. Funeral Service will begin at 1:00pm. Interment will follow at Prairie View Cemetery immediately after.
