Charles “Chuck” Eugene Dills

April 2, 1949- May 9, 2026

Chuck was born in Hammond, Indiana on April 2, 1949, and passed away on May 9, 2026, in Rockport Texas at the age of 77 from health complications. Chuck traveled and lived in various states, and settled in the Aransas Pass, Texas area. This is where he met his beloved wife of over 25 years. He proudly dedicated many years in service to the United States Navy and retired as a chief. As anyone who knew Chuck would tell you, any restaurant worth spending his hard-earned money at, better have a 32-ounce glass of frigid milk readily available for him. If you wanted a good natured and rousing debate with Chuck (and he was always up for the challenge), he would participate in-person or talking on the phone, but not text because according to him, “texting is the rudest form of communication.” He could take apart and rebuild most things in your house or car and would jump at the opportunity to help a person in need of his assistance. He was thoughtful about birthdays and was always grateful for any kindness that was shown to him or his wife. Chuck was fascinated by nature and practiced amateur astronomy from his backyard. He spent much of the final years of his career at the local Catholic Church and felt strongly about contributing to his community. In lieu of flowers or other tangible items, the family asks, if you are able, to donate anything you can to a charity of your choice in Chuck’s name.

Chuck’s wife and her immediate family will have a private service to honor his life at a future date.
