Catherine O'Connell-Apodaca

Catherine Alice O’Connell Apodaca, “Cathy”, “Mama Cat”, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, departed this life on May 14, 2025, at the age of 65. Born on February 22, 1960, in Clovis NM, she was the soul of her family, radiating love and kindness to everyone around her. Cathy was always ready with a listening ear and a helping hand, epitomizing selflessness in every interaction. She was always thinking of others, even in her last days. She was preceded in death by her parents, John V. O’Connell and Toshiko Mineta, and is survived by her husband, Joseph Apodaca; her children Melissa, Jason, Kandace, and Lorinda, her grandchildren; Griffin, Jackson, Weslynn, Malin, and Willow, her siblings Michael, Mary, and Patrick. Her enduring spirit of kindness and resilience will live on through her children and grandchildren. There will be no memorial service held, instead, Catherine would like to encourage all to attend any church service to honor her life. Family suggests donations be made to Our Lady Star of the Sea, Catholic Church, 3110 E Causeway Blvd., Corpus Christi, TX 78402, reflecting her generous heart. She will be profoundly missed and eternally cherished by all who had the privilege of knowing her. Thank you for all that you have given. We love you!
