Carolyn Sue Langston

Carolyn Sue (Armintrout) Langston, known to family and friends as Susan, was born to Captain Forest Armintrout and Martha (Shenkir) Armintrout in a United States Army field hospital in Wurzburg, Germany on March 29, 1947. She was a graduate of Aransas County High School, where she was active in basketball, volleyball, cheer, National Honor Society, the school newspaper, and more. She was voted by her classmates “Most Beautiful” her senior year.

Susan was a talented artist. She found joy in painting and sculpting clay. She had an artistic mind and saw beauty in simple objects and yearned to bring that out on canvas. Susan loved her family and asked in her last days for her children to take care of each other when she was gone.

Susan was proceeded in death by her half-brother, Jerry C. Armintrout; ex-husband, Gary Don Langston Sr.; and her son, Gary Don Langston Jr. She is survived by her sister, Elizabeth Ann Wright; brother-in-law Robert Wright; her children: Forest Cole Langston, Marissa Sue Whitstine, and Kimberly Dawn Solis; son-in-law Robert Whitstine; former daughter-in-law Shelly Langston Koletar; nieces and nephews: Jerri (Langston) Vickers, Dustin Wright, Joyce Langston, and Heather Wright; grandchildren: Donovan Langston, DeeAnthony Langston, Reece Young, Xander Solis, Ryker Whitstine, Riley Whitstine, Ryder Whitstine, Cooper Langston, Samantha Langston, Kai Solis, Avery Solis, and Rylan Whitstine; great-grandchildren: Chance Langston, Kennedy Young, and Emerson Young.

Susan was baptized on November 5, 1949, in Temple, Texas. She passed quietly in Corpus Christi, Texas surrounded by family on September 13, 2025. She was a believer and now sits with her Lord and Savior.
