Emblem

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Carey Dion, who left us on March 24, 2026, in Fulton, Texas, at the age of 84. Born on January 19, 1942, in Key West, Florida, Carey was a spirited soul who embraced life with open arms. After his family moved to San Antonio, Texas, he graduated from Jefferson High School and immediately answered the call of duty, serving proudly in the United States Air Force for 20 years. His military career marked the beginning of a life filled with adventure and dedication. He was a Proud American. After retiring from the Air Force, Carey settled in the picturesque Texas Hill Country, where he enjoyed being a successful lawn service owner and shared his enthusiasm for fitness as an avid racquetball instructor. Yet, the ocean's call was too strong to resist, and he eventually made his way to beautiful Rockport, where he reveled in the joys of fishing and coastal living. Carey also had a lively spirit for adventure, often finding delight in the bright lights and excitement of casinos. Carey leaves behind a legacy of love and laughter, survived by his devoted sons, Michael and Scott Dion, his cherished sisters, Cecilia Winters and Annette Dion Mainz, and a growing circle of grandchildren and great-grandchildren who will continue to spread his joyful spirit. He is preceded in death by his parents and his beloved son, Todd Dion.

We invite all who knew Carey to join us for a funeral on March 31, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. at Charlie Marshall Funeral Home with burial at a later date as we commemorate his vibrant life and bid farewell to a remarkable man who cherished every moment spent with family, friends, and the joys of life. Rest in peace, Carey—you will be missed dearly but never forgotten.
