December 20, 1972 — March 23, 2026

Rockport

Bruce Edward Hurley II, known lovingly as “Bub,” passed away on March 23, 2026, in Rockport, Texas, of natural causes. He was 53 years old. Born on December 20, 1972, in Man, West Virginia. Bruce lived a life full of purpose, adventure, and a deep love for family and friends. His charisma and outgoing nature meant he never met a stranger, and his handsome smile could light up any room he walked into.

Bruce proudly served his country in the United States Army, an experience that shaped his discipline, his leadership, and his deep sense of duty to others. After his military service, he earned his bachelor's degree from DeVry University and went on to build a career that left a lasting mark on everyone around him. Over the years, Bruce personally shaped the careers of more than 100 employees leading with a style that was firm but fair, the kind of leader people respected and genuinely wanted to follow.

Bruce married the love of his life, Stacie Hurley, and together they shared 29 beautiful years of partnership, adventure, and devotion. He was, above all, a family man. He cherished his role as an uncle and never missed a chance to show up for the people he loved. His heart was big enough for everyone, including his beloved horse Splash and his four loyal Labs, Bear, Cookie, Thor, and Gus. His outgoing personality, warmth and genuine spirit drew people in and made everyone feel like a friend, whether he was meeting them for the first time or catching up with old buddies.

When Bruce was not with family or working, he was living life to the fullest. He was a passionate sports fan, loved food, and an outdoors enthusiast, and enjoyed fishing and hunting. A man who craved adventure. Whether he was hiking a mountain trail, boating on open water, riding horses, tending to farm chores, helping Stacie create delicious home cooked meals from scratch, or traveling somewhere new, Bruce embraced every experience with enthusiasm and joy.

He is survived by his wife, Stacie Hurley, his mother, Sherry London, his sisters, Christina Carson, and Dawn Burke; and countless other family members and close friends who became family along the way. He was preceded in death by his father, Bruce Edward Hurley, and his brother, George Hurley.

Bruce gave his life to the Lord in 2020, and his relationships reflected the love of Jesus Christ in all that he did. His family takes great comfort in the words of John 3:16 “For God so loved the world, that He gave His only Son, so that everyone who believes will have enteral life in Him.”
