Bobby Ray "Bob" Stark passed away on July 14, 2026 with his loving wife, Shirley, by his side.

Bob was born on October 20, 1932, in Yoakum, Texas, to Allen Francis Stark and Minnie Hagan Stark. He grew up alongside his sister Johnnie Vee Hoech and brother, Allan "Wayne" Stark. 

Bob was preceded in death by his sister, Johnnie Vee Hoech and his beloved son, Rick.

Bob's life would take him to many places across Texas and around the world including Germany, Houston, Austin and McAllen. After retirement, he would find his way to Rodkport where the Texas Coast provided a fitting home for a man who loved boats and fishing.

Bob joined the Army in February 1953 and spent much of the next two years in Germany. After his time in the Army, Bob went to work as a Supervisor in the meat department for Lewis and Coker where he remained for twenty years. In 1980 Bob opened "Bob Starks Beef Shop: in Mc Allen. He owned and operated this business until his retirement in 1998. He was proud that his name remains on the markets.

Bob found enjoyment in the things he love..... the Texas Coast, boats, fishing, Corvettes and watching football. A lifelong sports fan he especially enjoyed cheering on or cursing whatever was called for at the time) for the Houston Texans.

Over the years Bob had many pets but most dear to his heart was his German Short Hair "Roscoe". From the eight-week old puppy to the 13 year old senior, Roscoe was Bob's constant companion.

Bob will be deeply missed by his wife of 22 years, Shirley, his daughter Stacy Lynn Stark, his brother Wayne and wife and Lisa Stark, daughter in law Peggy Stark, and grandson Ryan and wife Ashley Rochelle-Stark, and his pride and joy four great-grandchildren, Aydan, Aryanna, River and Rayne.

Bobs last days were eased by his home health caretakers and those at the Harbor Hospice facility in Portland, Texas. They provided physical care as well as emotional comfort. Our family is grateful to those who went above and beyond.

Bob's family finds peace in knowing that he is no longer in pain and the he is surrounded by God's eternal love and light. They find comfort in knowing he was welcomed home by the loved ones who went before him most especially his most loving son, Rick.

A life spanning 93 years leaves behind more than dates and places. It leaves memories stories, lessons and the lasting imprint of a man who touched many lives. Bob will be remembered by those who loved him and will remain forever a part of the family he leaves behind.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial donations be made in Bob's honor to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or the Tunnel to Towers Foundation. Both of these causes were meaningful to him.
