Billy Joe Hurta, 86 passed away April 24, 2022. He was born June 9, 1935 in Midfield, Texas to Joe Hurta and Dora Mae Hart Hurta. He was a Little League umpire, retired from Reynolds Metals Aluminum Company, enjoyed fishing, built and owned shrimp boats, and he also enjoyed fixing things.
He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Dana K. Hurta; son, Joel D. Hurta; siblings, Howard Hurta and Jean Smith.
Billy Joe leaves behind to cherish his memory, his children, David Hurta (Lesley), Cindy H. Jimenez (Joe); brother, Leroy Hurta (Charlene); sisters, Kathy Trumpy (Bill), Georgia Mikosh (Billy); three grandchildren, Justin Hurta, Brandon Hurta, William Jimenez and numerous great grandchildren.
A private family service will be held.
