Beverly Yvonne Kirkland Nugent was born on 12/4/29 in Edinburgh, TX to Oscar Kirkland and Daisy Donahoe. Beverly attended the University of Texas Austin where she was one of the Twirling Beverly's. She met her future husband Albert Reed (Bud) Nugent after WWII and had a long lasting marriage until his death in 1989. They made a life in Hurst, TX before moving to Rockport in 1975. Beverly was best known as a businesswoman with the Sears catalog store in Rockport as well as owning Market Street Center. Others may have known her through her son Wayne Nugent who was a teacher and coach for various sports in town. Beverly is survived by her daughter, Gayle Olds and son Byke Nugent, her grandchildren, CC Nugent, Amanda Lentz, Mark Westfall, Jackie Chmura, Dylan Nugent, Jordan Nugent, Angela Nugent and her great grandchildren, Alec Westfall, Preston Nugent, Beverly Westfall, Logan Lentz, Collins Taylor, Indy Nugent, and Beckham Nugent. She is preceded in death by husband, Bud Nugent, brother, John Kirkland, son Wayne Nugent, and great grandson, Hayden Castner. A visitation will be held on Friday, June 19, 2026 from 2:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.at Charlie Marshall Funeral Home in Rockport, Texas with a funeral service on Saturday, June 20, 2026 at the funeral home with burial to follow at Rockport Cemetery.
