**Obituary for Betty Jo Oliver**
Betty Jo Oliver, a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on April 17, 2025, in her home in Ingleside, Texas. She was born on October 14, 1928, to the late Norman and Eileen Allen, who instilled in her a deep love for family and life that would carry her joyfully through her years.
Betty was preceded in death by her cherished son, George Allen Oliver, her dear sister Iona Storms, her brother Gary Allen, sister-in-law Colleen Allen, and her lifelong partner, Ray Oliver. Though their absence leaves a profound void, Betty’s spirit continues to thrive in the hearts of all who knew and loved her. She is survived by her devoted daughter, Norma Allen, and her son-in-law, Lloyd; her grandchildren, Natalie Wintermire (Philip), George Follett and Mauri Oliver; her great-grandchildren, Alexis Marek (Kory). Betty is also survived by her brother, Kenneth Allen (Carolyn), and a cherished niece, Darla Sumlin.
Throughout her life, Betty was known for her vibrant spirit and boundless enthusiasm. She reveled in color blue, filled her days with crossword puzzles, and illuminated her world through her love of reading. Her evenings were often spent watching television or indulging in her fondness for the beach, motorcycles, and she loved dancing, especially the Jetter Bug. She was a tremendous animal lover, her warmth and affection could light up any room. Betty found joy in family gatherings, always ready with a smile, and a fresh hairstyle that showcased her spirited personality.
As we bid farewell to this remarkable woman, let us remember the laughter, love, and kindness she shared generously, and may her legacy continue to inspire compassion, Jesus and joy in our own lives.
Rest in peace, dear Betty. You will be profoundly missed.
