Artie Elizabeth Dotson passed away on October 26, 2024, at the age of 94 in Mathis, Texas. Born on January 26, 1930, Artie dedicated her life to her family, her faith, and her community.

Artie's professional journey included 12 years as a night manager at IGA in Aransas Pass, followed by 10 years as an outreach worker for San Patricio County #4. She later poured her passion into "Yesterday and Today Gift Shop," which she owned and operated, bringing joy to many through her curated collection of gifts.

A devout Christian, Artie's faith was the cornerstone of her existence. She was a hard worker with an unwavering faith in Jesus Christ, and she cherished the relationships she built. Artie was a beacon of love and kindness to all that had the pleasure of her acquaintance.

Artie was also a creative spirit, enjoying sewing quilts, restoring old rustic items, and making them beautiful again. Her quiet days were often spent shopping and having lunch with her granddaughter, Stephanie Ann, moments that both cherished deeply.

Artie was preceded in death by her spouse, Curtiss Alton Dotson; her son, Jerry Wayne Dotson; and her parents, John Erwin Lane and Elizabeth Mae Armstrong. She is survived by her son, Bobby Lee Dotson of Mathis; grandchildren, Stephanie Ann Dotson, Bobby Wayne Dotson, Alicia Janides, Stephanie Dawn Dotson; and great-grandchildren, Ryan Jay McNew (Amber), Cody Ray McNew, Desarae Dotson, Trevor Dotson, Elijah Dotson, Cassidy Dotson, and Elizabeth Janides; and great-great-granddaughters, Camila and Elyse.

Visitation will be held at Charlie Marshall Funeral Home in Aransas Pass on Friday, November 1, 2024, from 5pm till 7pm with a gravesite burial at San Fernando Cemetery #3 in San Antonio for family members. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Ronald McDonald House in Corpus Christi, TX or Driscoll Children's Hospital in Corpus Christi, honoring Artie's commitment to children and families in need.
