Rockport

Alton Voigt of Rockport, entered the next phase of his life on Tuesday, April 11, 2023 at the age of 76. One that has endless hours of baseball games, sky full of waterfowl, schools of fish, family and old friends. His amazing life has been shared with Linda, his wife for over 48 years; their two children: Leslie Voigt and Alan (Taryn) Voigt; grandkids, Talon Kenfield and Pearl Voigt; sisters, Beverly (Bill) Moorman, Janice (Rick) Wilborn and Karen (late Gene) Munger; his best friends, Mike Schwenn and Johnny Delgado as well as many, many friends and relatives. He was preceded in death by his father and mother, Alton Sr and Eunice Voigt. Born in San Antonio in 1946, Alton quickly found his love of the great outdoors and baseball. Extending his love for the great outdoors, he touched the fishing and hunting industry for over 40 years owning and operating Rockport Tackle Town (2002 - current) and Northwest Tackle in San Antonio (1982-2003) Alton’s most cherished accomplishment was the success and notability of Rockport Tackle Town. An icon of Rockport since the 1977 that he was able to obtain and grow to the business it is today. He owes the success to his family, employees and most of all the loyal customers. Alton was blessed with having his family in his life everyday. A “Celebration of Life” will be held on Monday, April 17th at the Fulton Convention Center (Paws and Taws). Service at 4:00pm followed by time to visit and reminisce this man we call husband, father, Pops, brother, friend and boss. Expression of sympathy can be made to the June Project at P O Box 190, Fulton, TX or check out their facebook page for a link. This in honor of his three favorite hunting ladies – Molly, Yappy and Lucy
