Alma Jane Montez, 64 passed away January 21, 2022. She was born July 31, 1957 in Aransas Pass, Texas. Janie was a lifelong resident of Aransas Pass. She spent her life living and caring for her friends and family. She took great pride giving back to the community by feeding and clothing anyone in need. She would care for the elderly and those who didn’t have a family of their own. She was known as Mama Janie by those young and old. Her life was one of servitude. She enjoyed spending her days with her family cooking, sewing, working on puzzles, gardeningand playing board games with her grandkids. Family was the foundation of her life, she is loved and adored by many, and her presence will be greatly missed.
She is preceded in death by her father, Silverio Diaz, Sr.; brother, Silverio Diaz, Jr.; sisters, Olga Diaz, Josie Diaz and grandson, Anthony Rodriguez.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory, her life partner of 31 years, Jose Rodriguez of Aransas Pass; children, Esmeralda Huff (James) of Rockport, John Perez of Tucson, AZ, Veronica Fruia(Dwayne) of Ingleside, Sarah Perez of Aransas Pass, Amanda Rodriguez of New Braunfels, Beatrice Leyva (Timothy) of Houston; mother, Eufemia Diaz; siblings, Elva Huerta (Jesus), Rosa Soto, Tomasita Romeu (Antonio), Gloria Longoria Rosscup (Eugene), Linda McCullough (Bill), Armando Diaz (Ludy); grandchildren, Natalie, Byron, Jamika, Lalu, Lyla, Kadence, Jacob F., John, Derrick, Jr., Jacob A., Logan, James, Brooke, Mia, Timothy, Jr., Jasmine, Elise; great-grandchildren, Jayceon, Sahni, Semaj, Karter, Isaiah, Jason, Layton, Gracyn; numerous, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins and friends.
Visitation will be held from 9:00a.m. until service time at 2:00p.m. Saturday, January 29, 2022 at Charlie Marshall Funeral Home, Aransas Pass. Burial will be private.
