Obituary

Alise Alaine Pearson Whitted, 62, was born a BOI (Born on the Island). Patricia (Penny) Dick Pearson and Joseph Robert Pearson, Jr., welcomed this beautiful girl in Galveston, TX, on July 26, 1964. She was the youngest of four siblings. She died in Rockport, TX, on September 19, 2026.

Alise was an anomaly of sorts. She was smart, adventurous, cunning, funny, caring and daring. You never really knew what Alise was going to bring to a conversation or gathering. Alise would prepare some of the best food you ever tasted (and could challenge top chefs and win) to an event, and then top it off with sarcasm or a big smile and laughter. Telling jokes was a top priority for her, and she was able to keep the events lively. Many people, all throughout different phases of her life, tried to encourage her to do stand up comedy. However, when football season arrived, all jokes were off as her and her mom (dressed in “the boys’ team colors) along with several other family members, rooted for the Dallas Cowboys.

However, her true passion belonged to creating delicious, stunning and perfect dishes of all kinds. Her sausage balls, stuffed jalapenos, quiches, casseroles, etc., you name it, had their own flair when Alise changed up any standard recipe. Her mom, Penny Brown, was a fantastic cook, too; so they would create dishes that could catch your mouth and stomach on fire, or comfort you with southern meals and goodies. A passion indeed, and all who came within her realm would be well fed.

A jack of all trades was part of her big personality. She could use tools both in the kitchen or from the garage. Industrious was part of her core personality. Whether fishing, crabbing, playing board games, or cheering for “her” beloved Dallas Cowboys, with the family or participating in a serious game of pool with cousins, and anyone that dare to challenge her, she was that competitor (she would usually win!).

She loved the water: Galveston’s various waters, Texas’ rivers and lakes, or the beautiful bay/beach in Rockport. Like most, it was a way to calm her soul and help put life into perspective. She gathered friends from all walks of life, just like the variety of colorful seashells she would find. Many of the friends were like extended family.

Alise is survived by her daughter, Haley Whitted (partner Marcial Ramirez), two granddaughters, Ariana and Mia, who all live in Miami, Fl.; Her siblings and their spouses: Donna Pearson Coselli (Frank), Joey Pearson (Sandy) and Cinde Pearson Bond (Ranger); along with many nephews and their families; an uncle, Jim Moore; plus beloved cousins, who all will sorely miss her.

Her mother, Penny Brown and Aunt Sharon Jo Moore, both from Rockport, went ahead of her, just this year, to prepare a way for a heavenly gathering. She is also preceded in death by her father, Joseph Pearson Jr.

Private memorial services will be held to celebrate her vivid life.
