Lonnie Milton Gautney Jr.

May 21, 1951 ~ March 30, 2019 (age 67)

On the Sabbath, in the year of our Lord, 2019, March 30, Lonnie Gautney, loving husband and
father to an adopted son and four children through marriage, was called to rest at the age of 68 after
long-term illnesses.

Lonnie Milton Gautney, Jr. was born May 21st, 1951 to Ola and Lonnie Gautney, Sr. in Kellogg,
Idaho.

Lonnie grew up in Houston, Texas. He joined the Marine Corps in his senior year of high
school. He served in an elite special forces group called ANGLICO during the Vietnam War. He was
on his second tour when an RPG came into base camp and robbed him of his legs, but he never once
lost his spirit. Lonnie then served his fellow patriots who returned from the war with injuries. He
taught and inspired them to adjust their lives in a manner befitting a “Marine.”
He had many interests and talents: wheelchair basketball, fishing and hunting guide, building
and working on race car engines, building boats. He gave a lot of love to his many pets who were
always by his side. He served the Lord many years at The Word of God Church in Aransas Pass, Texas.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Ola, and father, Lonnie Gautney, Sr.
Lonnie is survived by his loving wife, Kem, of almost eleven years; son, Chris Fenwick and
wife, Makiala; daughter, Amy Hatcher and husband, Jason; son, John Nix, and wife, Barbara; daughter,
Holly Davila; son, Kenneth Nix, and wife, Stephanie; and eleven grandchildren.
