Aransas Pass, Texas
Emilio Mendez Sr. “Gasolina”, of Aransas Pass, Texas, passed away on February 7, 2019. Emilio was born on January 18, 1947 to his parents Antonino and Francisca Mendez.
Emilio was a fisherman by trade. His first love was the sea. He was married to his honey Frances for 43 years. Emilio took great pride in being a father and grandparent. Though a man of few words his love was a presence that was seen and felt. Emilio loved to travel to Yucatan to visit his family. Emilio’s passion was fishing, and his goal was to one day return to manning the helm of a fishing trawler. He was set on finding that “elusive” mermaid and he will be greatly missed by his beloved family.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Frances R. Mendez of Aransas Pass, TX; his four sons, Martin, Emilio, Frank and Johnny all of Aransas Pass, TX; his three daughters, Frances, Maria and Maria Araceli all of Aransas Pass, Texas; his two brothers, Juan Antonio Mendez and Juan Augusto Mendez both of Motul, Yucatan, Mexico; his sister, Isabel Mendez de Manzano of Motul, Yucatan, Mexico; his 24 grandchildren; and over 20 great grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Antonino and Francisca Mendez and one brother Santiago Mendez.
A Memorial Service will be held in his honor on Sunday, February 10, 2019 at 1:00pm at the Pentecostal Holiness in Aransas Pass, Texas.
I will miss seeing my father, but I find comfort in knowing that he is in heaven worshiping our Lord and in great health, no more pain, no more tears. I love you dad, Thank You for your unconditional love.

Condolences to the Mendez family. May the "God of all comfort...comfort you in your trials" (2 Cor. 1:3, 4). The Bible gives us comfort and a real hope for our dead loved ones (Isaiah 26:19, Isaiah 25:8, Job 14:14, 15).
