Phoebe T. Neesham Lindholm
Phoebe T. Neesham Lindholm went to meet her beloved Raymond on Sunday, September 16, 2018.
Phoebe was born on August 9, 1937 in Boston, Massachusetts to Elizabeth Paige and Milton Strong Thompson. Phoebe attended St. Mary’s Hall in San Antonio, and received her B.S. and M.S. degrees from Trinity University in San Antonio and her Ph.D. from the University of Texas at Austin. She taught mathematics at Trinity University for 30 years. She retired in 1999 and moved to Rockport to live full time in 2001. Shortly thereafter, she met Ray in the Sacred Heart Church Choir. She enjoyed fishing, gardening, quilting, playing both party and duplicate bridge and was a devoted member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
She is survived by her two sons, Peter and Jeremy Neesham; her treasured daughter in law, Jane Neesham; four grandchildren, Weston, Kenneth, Alexandra, and Philip Neesham; one great-granddaughter, Kayden; one stepson, Dan Judson; one stepdaughter, Kate Klein; two sisters, Mary Donald and Caroline Longley and her brother, Elliott May.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Desert House of Prayer, P.O. Box 570, Cortaro, AZ, 85652, or to Sacred Heart School, 111 N. Church Street, Rockport, TX, 78382.
A Rosary will be recited at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, September 22, 2018 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Rockport, TX, with Mass of
Christian Burial being celebrated at 10:00 a.m.
Christian burial will follow at Rockport Cemetery.

I remember Phoebe as a wonderful colleague at Trinity University over a long period of years. She was always so thoughtful and helpful. Judy and I recall her as a great friend who was so nice to our children as they were growing up. Our condolence to all of her family. Ken and Judy

My deepest condolences to the family. I have just prayed that our loving and kind Heavenly Father give you peace and help all of you through your loss. I have lost my wife and two of my children in the last three years. There were some Bible verses that really helped me and that you can read in your own Bible. I would like to list two of them here in hopes that they will help all of you also. One was in Revelation 21:1-4 where Jesus says that there will be a new world and that death, sorrow, pain and tears would be done away with. So we can look forward to a time when no one will ever again lose a loved one in death. Another is in John chapter 11. In verses 23-25 Jesus promises a resurrection from the dead. Down toward the end of this chapter Jesus actually resurrects his friend, Lazarus, and gives him back to his family. So, could it be that you will see Phoebe again like Lazarus' family saw him? Almost every Thanksgiving and Christmas dinner was spent Elizabeth,Milton Phoebe Peter and Jeremy and all the cousins, and extended family from 60’s to the 80’s in San Antonio. Football in the backyard, sipping on Egg Nog and breaking bread always at a round dinner table. Such special memories.
Loved seeing Phoebe at Rockport just few years back where me, my mom and my four kids for several days.

Phoebe was one of the most unique & interesting women I have ever met. She possessed an enormous abundance of mental strength, stamina, poise and grace in every challenge she faced.
She never ceased to amaze me, I never had an encounter with her where i did not leave feeling stronger, enlightened & like OMG this is such an AMAZING Human being who makes the world a better place whom I soooo aspire to be more like.
In 9/17 after harvey, @ 80 yrs old she was in her khakis,like a general working with & directing the family troops outside cleaning up literally 12 plus hours working circles around everyone else & with a positive attitude.
She was extremely generous and thoughtful- she had a beautiful turquoise smock dress with floral embroidery that looked stunning on her that I complimented frequently & one day in 2016 she walked across the street simply to act on a generous gesture of kindness and she GAVE it to me!!! I will Cherish it forever & i will never forget how special her gesture made me feel!!!
We lost a phenomenal woman who was so strong in her faith i never saw her conviction waiver - and she portrayed a sense of readiness to meet her creator whenever her time came. I Know she is now in a heavenly place of peace and tranquility with a spectacular view!!!
