I served in the Navy.

Jose R. Jimenez, Jr. of Ingleside, Texas left this world on June 23, 2018 at the age of 92 surrounded by his family.
Jose was born on July 6th, 1925 in Bishop, Texas, and as a boy lived and worked on Sahadi Farm near Ingleside with his parents and 10 siblings. At the age of 17 he joined the military and was a proud WW II veteran who served in the United States Navy between 1943 and 1946. He was a gun captain aboard the USS Appling, and spoke of earning the title of "shell back" for sailing back and forth across the equator many times during the war. He took great joy in spending time with family on special occasions and at backyard barbeques, and he was well loved and will be dearly missed by family, friends, and neighbors.
Jose is preceded in death by his parents, Jose and Crescencia Jimenez, his wife, Martita and his eldest son Eddie (Olga). He is survived by sons, Joe (Cindy), Mario (Debra), David (Laura), Noe (Adela), and Mike (Shelly) as well as numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held from Tuesday, June 26, 2018 from 1:00p.m.-9:0p.m. with Holy Rosary at 6:00p.m. at Charlie Marshall Funeral Home, Aransas Pass.
Mass will be celebrated at 9:00a.m. Wednesday, June 27, 2018 at Our Lady of the Assumption Catholic Church, Ingleside.
Interment will follow at San Ignacio Cemetery.
